چکیده

The electronic momentum distribution n(k) of the two dimensional Hubbard model is studied for different values of the coupling U/t, electronic density 〈n〉, and temperature, using quantum Monte Carlo techniques. A detailed analysis of the data on 8× 8 clusters shows that features consistent with hole pockets at momenta k = (±π2 ,± π 2 ) appear as the system is doped away from half-filling. Our results are consistent with recent experimental data for the cuprates discussed by Aebi et al. (Phys. Rev. Lett. 72, 2757 (1994)). In the range of couplings studied, the depth of the pockets is maximum at 〈n〉 ≈ 0.9, and it increases with decreasing temperature. The apparent absence of hole pockets in previous numerical studies of this model is explained. Typeset using REVTEX

The effects of the nearest neighbour Coulomb repulsion, V , are considered in the one dimensional copper-oxide chain using the modified Lanczos method. Above a critical value of V we find that charge transfer excitons are the lowest lying energy exitations in the insulating phase. Close to the metal-insulator transition and V = 0 there is good 'particle-hole' symmetry, showing that the mapping ...

Using density matrix renormalization group techniques, we have studied the ground state of the 4-leg t-J ladder doped near half-filling. Depending upon J/t and the hole doping x, three types of ground state phases are found: (1) a phase containing d x 2 −y 2 pairs; (2) a striped CDW domain-wall phase, and (3) a phase separated regime. A CDW domain-wall consists of fluctuating hole pairs and thi...

The properties of the two–chain Hubbard Model doped away from half–filling are investigated. The charge gap is found to vanish, but a finite spin gap exists over a range of interchain hopping strength t ⊥. In this range, there are modified d x 2 −y 2 –like pairing correlations whose strength is correlated with the size of the spin gap. It is found that the pair field correlations are enhanced b...

We exhibit explicitly the intertwiner operator for the monodromy matrices of the recent proposed SU (N) Hubbard model [5]. This produces a new family of non-additive R-matrices and generalizes an earlier result by Shastry [2].

A theory for the high temperature superconductors is proposed. Holes are spin-1/2, charge e, quasiparticles strongly dressed by spin fluctuations. Based on their dispersion, it is claimed that the experimentally observed van Hove singularities of the cuprates are likely originated by antiferromagnetic (AF) correlations. From the two carriers problem in the 2D t-J model, an effective Hamiltonian...
